Membrane plants for water, wastewater and industrial effluents treatment
Highly adaptable Microfiltaration (MF), Ultrafiltration (UF), Nanofiltration (NF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants are used in the laboratory of membrane&membrane research group. Thus, it is possible to treat various volumes of effluents using membrane of a different size, material and configuration, and also to perform in situ tests.
Analytical laboratory is a complementary part of the membrane&membrane laboratory.
Some typical analysis perform with water, wastewater and industrial effluents samples: COD, TOC, HPLC, Dionex, Uv-Vis, FAAS.

Membrane contactors plants
Several membrane contactors plants are available in the laboratory of membrane&membrane research group. In membrane contactors membrane is employed in order to create a liquid/liquid or gas/liquid contact interface, as in the following processes studied in our laboratory:
- Membrane Distillation (MD)
- Osmotic Distillation (OD)
- Gas Adsorption.

Catalysis and membrane reactors plants
Membrane&membrane group has broad experience and specialised laboratory equipment for preparation and characterization of heterogeneous catalyst.
Catalysis and rectors laboratory is equipped in various plants and reactors capable to work in a wide temperature range. The gas phase reactors can be run at temperature from 30°C to 1700°C, while gas-liquid phase reactions are conducted at temperature changing from -10°C to +200°C. The employed reactors can be traditional (fixed bed reactors) or membrane reactors (e.g. catalytic membrane or inert fixed bed membrane reactor). Fuel cells |
Conventional physico-chemical treatment of industrial wastewater
The laboratory of membrane&membrane research group is equipped with numerous instruments for a conventional physico–chemical water/wastewater treatment:
- jar test clariflocculation and sedimentation
- adsorption on active carbon and other adsorbents
- ion exchange on ion-exchange resin
- ozonization
- catalytic treatment as Wet Air Oxidation (see also Catalysis and membrane reactors plants)
- bioreactors with activated sludge, membrane bioreactors and reactors with biofilm deposition on membrane.
